Siri France
Siri France is a painter and art teacher based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her practice centres on painting and drawing, combining careful observation with an expressive and intuitive use of materials to explore form, mark, and surface.
France trained at Newcastle Polytechnic, where she completed a BA (Hons) that included a year of study at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She later undertook a postgraduate diploma in art therapy at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, an experience that has informed her sensitivity to process and perception in her artistic work.
Alongside her studio practice, France has an established teaching career spanning over 15 years. She teaches both privately and through institutions including Edinburgh Drawing School and Birchwood Art Studio. Teaching remains an integral part of her practice, contributing to her ongoing development as an artist and deepening her engagement with drawing and painting as exploratory processes.
