Visited my brother in Bristol and we walked over to Clifton via Ashton Court. It was halfway through May after the weirdly cold weather and it was a perfect day, the type of day when you think there’s nowhere better than here. Warm sun, blue sky, and so much green - as well as beautiful poppies, buttercups and wild orchids. When I got back to London I painted the memory of the intensity of those colours.
