This is a beautiful and informal corner of Rousham where walled gardens are connected by paths and doorways. I was struck by this view, the path through the box archway invites such curiosity and this particular afternoon the young May foliage seemed especially vibrant against the grey rain clouds above. I don’t live far from Rousham and have enjoyed visiting these stunning gardens over the years. It was an absolute joy and privilege to be able take the time to stop, soak it in and capture some of its beauty in paint.
