Inspired by a spring walk through a bluebell woodland, rather than capturing the whole woodland scene, I was drawn to a single stem. By focusing on this small detail I wanted to celebrate the beauty that can be found when we pause and look closely at the natural world.
This particular woodland holds special memories for me, as it is the place where I became engaged a year before creating this painting. Returning there this spring felt both familiar and meaningful, making this piece both a celebration of nature and a personal reflection on a place close to my heart.
