A road verge on the corner of George Street and the A21 Battle Road. Early morning on 27th May 2026. A hot day in store, I painted as the early morning sun illuminated wild flowers and grasses against the slate grey shadows of the road. Rush hour came and went, tucked safely at the back of the verge few noticed me and I became attuned to the life on the verge - the bees, beetles and birdsong.
