My painting captures my personal view of the pitch invasion at Portman Road when Ipswich Town were promoted back to the Premier League in early May. I wanted to express the emotion of that moment — the surge of supporters, the energy on the pitch, and the sense of history unfolding in front of me.
The piece reflects how it felt to stand there: overwhelming, joyful, and unforgettable. It’s a landscape of a place, but also of a moment that defined “A Day in May".
