This work depicts a view of the lake in Victoria Park and was painted as part of a series exploring parks and other urban constructed environments. On most days this water feature is underwhelming: a single stream of water shot aggressively into the air, against a backdrop of foliage and reflected in a stirred lake. But in the right conditions, when the sun is bright and the wind pushes the droplets in erratic directions, the stream of water dances hypnotically and glimpses of rainbows form in the mist.
