This painting was based on photographs taken on a warm evening in May in our local cemetery, which is a very special spot teeming with life. The trees grow huge and grand but I chose a small section of scrubby grass for my painting, zoomed and cropped to near abstraction, a celebration of the tiny and overlooked.
