"This Watermeadow is a place I return to often. At the time, I had been spending much of my year painting cities and architecture, focusing on the energy, structure and history embedded within urban environments. Standing in this landscape offered something different. It was an opportunity to slow down, to be immersed in nature, and to reconnect with my surroundings.
Rather than seeking a dramatic view, I was drawn to the quiet rhythms of the meadow itself: the movement of light across the grasses, the stillness of the water, and the sense of calm that comes from being fully present in a familiar place. The painting reflects that experience of stepping away from the pace of the city and finding a renewed sense of perspective in the landscape."
