Its shifting light, dense textures and sense of mystery linger in my memory, shaping works that explore the space between observation, recollection and imagination. I wanted to capture the feeling of being there, the towering trees, filtered light, and the sense that the forest holds traces of stories and encounters. A solitary figure appears within the landscape, partly absorbed by it, reflecting how the forest can feel both welcoming and haunting. The textured surface and monochromatic palette evoke the atmosphere of a place recalled rather than directly observed. This a landscape shaped as much by memory and imagination as by the physical woodland itself.
