Whilst my interest is usually drawn...Across The Fields From Priory Drove was painted in response to a wonderful Day In May spent exploring Wicken and Burwell Fens in Cambridgeshire. Whilst my interest is usually drawn to the complex interplay of land and water, on this occasion I found myself captivated by the orderly rows of young crops across from the farm lane called Priory Drove. The crops were an almost surreal fluorescent lemon/lime green and glowed against the deep, dark brown fertile fen soil.
