When...Just on the edge of the village, The Chase is a where I walk the dogs every day - 130 acres of mixed woodland, with a meadow and lake. When you visit a place so frequently you start to notice small changes, how things are growing or dying back, the tiny shifts between seasons, new views framed amongst branches, forever growing and moving. In my painting, I hoped to capture the whole rather than a specific view. In early May, a purple haze of bluebells runs through the forest floor and meanders to the river, a spot I am always drawn to.
