I have been gazing at the topography - especially a lake surrounded by drumlins (egg shaped hills formed during the ice age). There are contours, hedge and field patterns, reflections, huge skies, changes caused by the season, weather and farming. It is very alive. I have been drawing it in my mind. The painting is not intended to be a delineation of the scene, rather a recollection of bright twilight over the lake - crystalline light, reflection and stillness. I was pleased with the painting - it played out quickly, I was in the zone. It tells me that the outside is filtering inside , that the psychological dust from the move is settling, that I can paint here in my new home place.
