I often find the best compositions are at confluences where you can see along one branch of a river whilst standing on the bankside of another, as I found here on the River Eye in Lower Slaughter. Rivers are delicate places, continuously changed by run off from the land and from both neglect and overuse. I love the sense of history, reflections and interesting shapes created by this mill, as do a lot of other people. But the water quality and environments that sustain rivers like the Eye face multiple challenges. I hope the right decisions and enforcements are made to properly protect and restore them.
