I started the painting outside with red kites circling overhead and sheep...This breathtaking view is behind my house in an area classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. I started the painting outside with red kites circling overhead and sheep in the field frollicking behind me but finished the details in my studio. I used palette knives to create an impasto effect on the clouds and wild flowers and kept the palette in fresh summery colours.
