"The River Ouse is a constant source of inspiration for my work. Over time, I found a secluded spot on the eastern bank where the changing tides continually transform the landscape. As a tidal river, the Ouse shifts in height and flow throughout the day, altering the reflections, colours and atmosphere of the scene.
This quiet stretch of river is home to foxes, rabbits, deer, badgers and a rich variety of birdlife, with even the occasional seal appearing in its waters. The sense of stillness and connection to nature I experience there is what I try to capture in my paintings. Each visit offers a moment of observation, reflection and calm, making the landscape feel endlessly renewed."
