"Annis Hill in Bungay, on the Suffolk-Norfolk border, is a place I regularly walk my dogs. Surrounded by farmland and housing estates, it is a landscape that has become both familiar and special to me during the two and a half years I have lived here.
The green background is the colour of the walls in my home studio, where I have long intended to pin photos and imagery to them for inspiration- I never seem to… so instead, have painted the intention.
This trompe l’œil painting depicts a photo from one of our walks, seemingly attached to the wall with masking tape. A painted version of an image that exists only among the thousands of photos on my phone, many taken while walking my dogs."
