It's a short, steep sided gorge in the chilterns that has the protective cloak of vegetation in the centre, creating an enclosed space that has neolithic remains.
On a blisteringly hot day, the vertical nature of the hills started to play with my perception of proportions and space, with the throbbing heat adding to the dreaminess of the experience that I wanted to capture in loose brushwork. This piece uses the textural qualities of different media contrasting a chalk emulsion base, with spray paint, oil paint and watercolour pencil.48of 48
