Lucy Gogoliuk b. 1998
Lucy Gogoliuk is a British artist and graduate of the MA Fine Art programme at the University of Edinburgh. She further developed her practice through The Drawing Year in 2022, where her focus on drawing and observation became increasingly central to her work.
Gogoliuk’s practice is grounded in an exploration of the physical act of painting and drawing, with particular attention to mark-making, colour, and surface. She is interested in how material processes shape meaning, allowing the physicality of making to guide the development of her visual language.
Since completing her studies, her work has been rooted in close observation of the immediate environment, which she combines with imaginative and sensory elements. Drawing on a continually evolving archive of formal influences, she constructs images that sit between perception and invention, forming a distinct and personal visual vocabulary.
