Sophia Ponte b. 1996

Sophia Ponte is a London-based fine artist whose practice spans drawing, printmaking and painting. She holds a Veterinary MB from the University of Cambridge (2021) and recently completed the Online Drawing Development Year at the Royal Drawing School (2025).​

Ponté’s work explores her relationship with the natural world, focusing on moments where the boundary between human and non-human begins to blur. Drawing outdoors anchors her within specific environments, where fleeting and chance encounters are committed to the page, encouraging stronger memories to form. Smells, temperature, sounds and touch are noticed and recorded as notes, alongside the visual. These images and writings are later developed further in the studio.
