I walk past this spot every day on my way to the studio. I adore watching the daily changes. It is the lowest lying part of the woods which really gives a sense of being immersed in the landscape. The painting itself was painted over the course of a week in May, a week of sunshine and showers. I aimed to capture different moments and a sense of place and a feeling, rather than one particular moment in time.
