Painting under trees by the mill pond and immersed in old growth woodland, I was acutely aware of being part of a landscape brimming with life - from the impossible bright green new leaves to the layered birdsong, and the barely perceptible ripples of life in the water - it’s this sense of an embodied experience that I’m attempting to locate in my painting.
