I wanted to create a..."When I was on holiday in France, I wanted to wind down. I was burnout from work and I was aching for some down time. I wanted to create a painting without a need for pressure. I wanted to paint for myself.
So, when I landed in France I was very excited to get out and paint a landscape within quiet serenity, just me and the landscape. I was aiming to try and paint the feeling; peace, stillness, and content.
I went out and found a beautiful spot where the path bent round, overlooking the long grass that was bleached by the sun. Even though the mosquitos were definitely trying their best to make it an itchy experience, once I was in a flow state the process became calming and I started to reach that stillness and peacefulness that I had aimed for."
